BOOKING INFORMATION
(Tom performing solo or in conjunction with Alex Uskuraitis, Wayne G. Harvey)

AVAILABILITY AND EVENTS

I am available for work at festivals, concert venues, clubs, house concerts, private parties, fundraisers, schools (concerts and/or classroom programs), meetinghouses, churches and any establishment that supports the performance of live music.

I am often available on short notice but would prefer a least a week’s notice if possible. For events that involve ticket sales and the creation and distribution of self-promotional materials, the maximum lead time you can give would be preferred. My schedule has dates booked months in advance, but it is not closed to new dates if the time is open
and travel is feasible.

PAYMENT

For solo or group appearances, payment is on a sliding scale and can be discussed with any individual or establishment, depending on needs, the length of the performance, and travel considerations.

For venues outside the region, it is preferable to have some monetary assistance with gas and travel expenses. In those venues which feature food and offer music, a complimentary meal is considered amenable.

Payment is expected in full on the night of the performance.

HIRING THE BAND

All terms of availability, pay, expenses, etc. also apply to hiring Tom Mullian & Friends. The trio consists of Alex Uskuraitis (vocals, accordion, keyboards), Wayne G. Harvey (vocals, guitar, gourdalin) and me. Our extended family of musicians includes other players who move in and out of the performances depending on the need for their services.

We can configure an unplugged evening of original/interpretive acoustic music, an acoustic/electric show, or a performance with percussion and bass encompassing the full dynamic of an amplified music show.

Performances feature a broad range of styles from intimate acoustic pieces to ensemble playing. We excel in interactive settings where the band moves into the audience and plays a la mardi gras.

EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

For venues with in-house PA systems, it is preferable to speak with the sound technician in advance of a show so a sound check can be arranged prior the performance.

For those venues which require the transport of sound equipment, either I and/or the band will arrive at least an hour before the performance to insure that all equipment is set up properly and functioning.

STUDIO WORK & GUITAR LESSONS

I will do some studio guitar work on projects but send me a CD in advance for review. As for lessons, students will be considered for a limited number of lessons. Lessons would include a centered, spiritual (not religious) approach to playing the guitar and an introduction to improvisational techniques in some blues (lead playing, picking, and
bottleneck guitar), rock, and country settings. I do not teach tablature, music theory, or licks off of records. The work is designed to make you your own player and provide some tools for self-realization in phrasing and composition.
